Workshop Descriptions:

Using Participative Processes

A typical definition of leadership is helping people work together to achieve a common purpose. In the old days, that might have meant telling people what to do and how to do it. Not any more. Learn the importance of and strategies for using participative processes that allow people to bring their whole selves – all of their gifts, passion, and energy – to your common work for the sake of doing what matters together. In this workshop, you'll learn:

  • "Participative Process" is not code for everybody gets to decide everything;
  • How to shut down the bullies without scaring everybody else in the room;
  • As a leader, you don't have to choose between being an autocrat or a wimp.

Working Playfully

Too many people start their work full of enthusiasm, hope and a sense of adventure but lose it somewhere along the way. In the emerging future, you’re going to need the people you work with to hang on to (or recover) a spirit of joy and freedom so that, together, you can try new things and move in new directions. Learn to unleash creativity and set people free by cultivating an attitude of playfulness and possibility in your shared work.
